I ask myself now, as to why I have gotten the chance of stumbling into great books lately… First it was Hard Rules by Lisa Renee Jones, and then yesterday with Wicked Beautiful by J. T. Geissinger which was a tear-jerker! In comparison to that book from Turbulent Intensions by Melody Anne, this book also had the similar outcome.
Lets begin with what captivated me the most in the beginning of this book: THEIR NAMES! Holy guacamole!
Cooper was the oldest at twenty-four, each of his brothers one year, almost to the date, behind him: Nick at twenty-three, Maverick at twenty-two, and Ace, the baby, at twenty-one.
COOPER, NICK, MAVERICK, and ACE! Dear lord, I’m drooling over those names cause honestly, they are perfection! Sons, all born with a cash-wad of money handed to them on a silver platter, makes them even interesting to be honest.
The cliché story of how their father passes away and leaves them an inheritance that they have to change if they want to obtain that inheritance, is not new. They all have to find true love, just like their father did with their mother in the next ten years, or else the money does not go to them, in quarters.
In the beginning it is provided that Stormy- the female protagonist- had a past that she does not want to relive and reveal to Cooper- the male protagonist and the oldest brother. When they met, sparks definitely flew everywhere and it radiated from the page itself when I was reading it!
The obvious about Cooper being a true bachelor is very well described in this book. From the way he dresses to the way his room is explicitly described- being all masculine, and making Stormy’s presence bring “an exotic flavor that had never been in his masculine room before.”
Through out the passage, Cooper’s mind makes it aware that he has met Stormy before, from the gap of six years after that one night stand. Not only is the sexual tension between them strong and is present in every way, but the conformity of each other’s presence is endearing. The little things Cooper does in this story are absolutely romantic. They simply make you fall in love with the idea of romanticism being true and alive. From making in-house-dinner-dates, to flying across the country for one day in his “baby,” aka his owned plane that he flies. The sensitivity of not pushing Stormy to do things she does not desire, coming from Cooper is ideally sweet as well.
A surprise that took me out of the blue, was the ending! Holy WHAT?!!! I was not expecting that sort of climax to release itself like that!
In general, this love story has indeed out done itself because it was just absolutely wonderful. The second book to this series is called Turbulent Desires, releasing on November 6th with the story of Maverick & Lindsey. So stay tuned for the announcement of the book! Here is the cover:
Lindsey, huh? I guess Stormy’s best friend will be the next conquest! But to be honest, I want to read about the mysterious Ace… I’m sure Melody is leaving the best for last 😉
Goodreads rating: FIVE STARS!
