Looking Inside by Beth Kerry – ARC Book Review

Beth Kery is back, and she is back with a better outlook to her writing because… DAAAYUUMM! This story is one of the lost emotionally, erotic, masterpiece of work that I have read in a very long time… Ever since Fifty Shades I haven’t read anything that is close to the BDSM environment that is connected so artfully to the emotional love connection between the two protagonists. Thank you to Beth Kery, the author herself for sending me this ARC for an honest review. Check out the story, hitting new adult and romance shelves this upcoming November 1st!

Synopsis: Are you going to just stand there and watch?

p style=”text-align:center;”>Eleanor Briggs just can’t help herself. The sight of the man in the
high-rise across the street is driving her wild. She longs to feel his touch up close and personal. To win him over, she’ll need to shake off her wallflower sensibilities and become the seductress she never imagined she could be. The only trouble will be finding the perfect way to meet him…

Or are you going to join in?

Sex is easy for millionaire entrepreneur Trey Riordan. Finding something of substance, however, seems impossible. What begins as a simple night of reading for self-improvement at a local coffee shop takes a turn for something far steamier when a beautiful brunette comes by and leaves him a note to look out his bedroom window at midnight. But when the time comes, neither of them will be truly ready for what follows…

Honestly, in the beginning I thought I was reading the perspective side story of a serial killer, waiting for the correct time to attack its prey… The serial killer being Eleanor and her prey being Trey, hahahaha! I found it rather creepy, but at the same time exhilarating, about Eleanor’s actions towards watching Trey and his movements from afar. It’s something that defies the type of character Eleanor truly is; brave and a true risk taker. In comparison to the way she describes herself being all shy, isolated, and not a risk taker towards the things she wants. Her story with Trey is a story that is sticking to my heart due to the intimate scenes they have together. I feel like the definition of BDSM changes in this book. Yes, both characters explore their intimate risks and don’ts and they do them through the actions of bondage and restraint. There is surely a lot of spanking hahaha, which I welcomed with opened arms!

Though their problems of committing to a relationship evolve throughout the story, their pasts and their personal lives crash to them and their common knowledge of knowing that the death of someone they where both really close with has taken a play in their scenario, they both try to work it out. Like any couple, a break is long overdue. Making them realize that they both need each other and want to be together for a better fill in their hearts.

This book gives you a sense of isolationism… It’s a feeling that I haven’t felt in a while now, but a feeling that was somehow welcomed. I enjoyed this story, and I am truly impressed with Beth’s writing and her outlook to love and romance.
